What subjects do you teach?
I am the Counselor and also teach College Preparation.
What’s something cool about your subject?
I walk students through the college application process. This is complicated and the course really gives the students assistance. I get to see the students delight when they are accepted to college.
What do you do when you’re not working at SPP?
Walk, yoga, read, spend time with family and friends and work with my dog Doc on therapy dog training.
How did you spend your summer?
Working and then went for a few days for a personal retreat.
Where is the best place you’ve ever lived or visited and why?
I lived in China for four and a half months. The culture is so different from America; it was eye-opening!
What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
Stood on the Great Wall of China.
If you could give one piece of advice about life, what would it be?
Try to live in the moment. We waste a lot of time worrying about the future and feeling bad about the past. Relax, let go and be present to what is happening right now.
What do you find fascinating?
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Ireland. Walk in the hills and listen to the people talk. I love the brogue!
If you weren’t teaching, what job would you want?
Have you ever experienced culture shock? When and how did you deal with it?
Yes, when I was in China! I had other Americans around and that really helped.
Tell me something interesting or unique about yourself.
I meditate every morning.
