St. Paul Prep Students Attend We Day Minnesota

This year SPP is excited to share that we have launched an Experiential Learning program, and the acronym WORLD (Work hard, Opportunity, Respect, Leadership, Decision making) to help foster a positive community of outreach. As part of this mission, on October 8, 2013, 50 SPP students and 6 SPP staff attended We Day Minnesota, a movement based on the initiative of Free the Children, to encourage and empower youth in service and leadership for local and global change. SPP students were some of the 18,000 students at the event that day who had committed to a year of service in order to obtain tickets for attendance. This high energy event filled the Xcel Energy Center with well-known musical artists, TV celebrities, speakers, activists, videos, and youth who have a message to share. Our hope is that our students came away motivated and inspired to shift their thinking from “me” to “we” through the choices they make.
